Joy, Soul, and Sisterhood Take the Stage in Gainesville Theatre Alliance’s Sister Act
GAINESVILLE, Ga. (October 30, 2025) — Gainesville Theatre Alliance (GTA) invites audiences to raise their voices for the joyful musical comedy Sister Act, running November 7-15 at Brenau University’s Hosch Theatre. Adapted from the hit film of the same name, the story follows nightclub singer Deloris Van Cartier as she hides in a convent and discovers an unexpected sisterhood that changes her life, and everyone else’s, for good.
Guest artist and Brenau alumna Kari Twyman directs and choreographs the production, bringing the high-energy score and heartfelt humor to life. “Returning to Gainesville Theatre Alliance to direct and choreograph my second musical feels absolutely unreal,“ Twyman shared. “To be back here now, telling this story, feels nothing short of divine timing.”
The creative team features music direction by Dale Grogan, scenic design by Gavin E. Mosier and Alexander Whittenberg, costume design by Pamela Workman, lighting design by Nathan Avakian, and sound design by Zack Bennett.
An Opening Night Reception on Friday, November 7 will be catered by Tupelo Honey.
Sister Act is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older due to mild language, suggestive humor, and adult themes. The production is sponsored by Jacobs Media and AccessWDUN.
