Join us for an exciting day of technical theatre workshops! These hands-on in-person workshops introduce a variety of techniques for those interested in expanding their techinical theatre knowledge.
No previous experience oR training required!
Backstage Bootcamp is open to high school students and K-12 educators with an interest in theatre.
This event is free to participants, and includes our Lunch with the Pros, featuring GTA alumni working in the industry.
Space is limited and registration is required. Teachers, parents, and chaperones who wish to attend must register separately.
PLEASE CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE REGISTRATION FORM BELOW.
Students under 18 should register using the Student Registration link (a parent or guardian will also need to sign the form). Students 18 or older, teachers, and adult chaperones should use the Adult Registration link. This helps us collect the necessary waivers for minors and ensures everyone is properly counted.

This class will cover the foundations of stage lighting and basic strategies for tackling any lighting situation.

This class will cover strategies for creating period costume looks on a minimal budget.

This class will cover basic practices for styling and maintaining wigs and best practices for make-up.

This class will cover the basics of stage management.

This class will cover basic principles of mixing sound
for live theatre and musicals. Some prior experience
with audio will provide the best learning outcomes
but all are invited to participate.Item description -
This class will be an introduction to
the CADD software Vectorworks. -
Part I of this class will cover the basic elements and principles of design.

Part II of this class will discuss how the elements and principles of design are applied to lighting, scenery,
and costume, as well as directing. -
Learn the skills needed to participate in the ThesCon BACKstage Challenge competition.
