TARA WEINTRAUB
Tara Weintraub brings a rich and multifaceted background in Acting, Directing, and Educational Theatre to UNG. She currently teaches courses in Acting, Directing, and Voice, drawing on a career that blends professional artistry with thoughtful pedagogy. Tara earned her Master of Arts in Acting and Directing from Binghamton University in New York and her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Her professional training spans the Meisner Technique, Laban Movement Analysis, and Devised Theatre, complemented by study with the Linklater Center for Voice and Language. She trained in Moment Work under Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project in New York. Tara also had the honor of studying Story Theatre at Paul Sills’ Wisconsin Theatre Game Center under Paul and Carol Sills, children of improvisation pioneer Viola Spolin. Tara’s teaching and creative practice emphasize the integration of movement, voice, and storytelling, guiding students to explore and realize their full artistic potential.
Outside the classroom, Tara is mom to two adventurous daughters (ages 6 and 9), wife to a pianist who was her longtime musical director and jury accompanist, and dog-mom to Jake from State Farm Weintraub—who proudly sports his red polo on Halloween, though the khakis remain an impossible dream.
